Shape note resources

• Best of the Cooper book: recordings of songs from the Sacred Harp Cooper book
• Songs in the Sacred Harp (2025) by key: incredible resource by Will Fitzgerald
• Minutes Tune Name Inserter: another great resource by Shawn Taylor. It’ll input the name of the song if you only have the song number for minutes

Cool websites

• Slowly: a penpal app, where I’ve made cool friends
• The Monastery of St. Blamensir: probably best seen on desktop, but isn’t it kind of cool when people get creative with a webpage?
• Neocities: if you ever want to dip a toe into coding your own site

Music

• Farya Faraji: musician and composer who works with other musicians to showcase music traditions from around the world, and does deep dives into common misconceptions about them
• David Hilowitz: musician and composer who does a lot with synths, but I like his videos when he finds or makes an uncommon instrument (for the U.S.)
• David Bruce: composer who talks about music

Sewing

• Vincent Briggs: cozy historical sewing videos
• Claire Yixuan Zhang: more cozy historical sewing

Bookbinding

• DAS Bookbinding: the go-to for exploring different bookbinding techniques

• Bitter Melon Bindery: cozy bookbinding videos, that also occasionally give me ideas

Books

• Crow Caller: makes videos that are way too long about bad books. I was using them to fall asleep to at one point in time.

• Pagemelt: kind of a booktuber?

• Booktrovertida: talks about books… in Spanish! I enjoy them when I’m able to follow along.

Art/Comics

• Anna Selheim: a great cartoon artist in Baltimore

• Matt Muirhead: another great/fun artist in Baltimore (there’s a lot of great artists in Baltimore)
